Φαντασιόπληκτους και οργισμένους,

Να αντέξω τον σιχαμένο θόρυβο που κάνουν
Όταν στοχεύουν το μυαλό μου και τρυπάνε.

Δυσκίνητα ανδρείκελα που ρητορεύουν
Τον θόρυβο δηλητήριο
Με χέρια ύπουλα γραπώνουν
Όλες τις έγχρωμες διαφορετικές ιδέες,
Ξύνουν τις λεπτομέρειες
Με τα αριστοκρατικά τους νύχια,
Απλώνουν και μολύνουν

Στα νυχτερινά τετράδια ποιημάτων
Των απανταχού επαρχιακών δασκάλων,
Στις πολύχρωμες ζωγραφικές των απανταχού μοναχικών παιδιών
Στα τετράδια των απανταχού παιδικών εκθέσεων
Της Έκτης Δημοτικού
Γιατί...
Γιατί σημαίνει πως του χρόνου στο γυμνάσιο θα πάνε!

Θόρυβος επίπεδος
Απλώνεται, μολύνει
Τη λίγη φαντασία που στωικά προσμένει.

I’m composing a melancholy march
For the prematurely dead,
Airy-fairy and raging,
Self-absorbed, yellowed heroes
Of the depressing over-emotional era
I am forced along with them
Also to experience.

To stand the stinking noise they make
When they aim at my mind and pierce.

Cumbersome figureheads who orate
The noise poison,
With cunning hands grabbing
All the coloured different ideas,
Scratch the details
With their aristocratic nails,
Spread and infect
The little imagination stoically awaiting
In the nightly poem notebooks
Of the provincial teachers far and wide,
On the colourful drawings of the lonely children far and wide
In the notebooks of the children’s composition writings far and wide
Of the Sixth Grade in elementary school
Because...
Because that means next year they will go to the secondary school!

A noise being flat,
Spreading, infecting
The little imagination stoically awaiting.
